This month, Europe Class 1C has been immersed in the joy of poetry and song, with a special focus on the theme “The Meadow.” A highlight of our learning was the opportunity to explore a poem I wrote especially for the class, also titled The Meadow—a gentle reflection on the beauty of nature and the power of imagination.
At this stage of learning, poetry offers children so much more than rhyme and rhythm. It opens doors to creativity, strengthens language skills, and builds confidence. Through reading, reciting, and performing poetry, our students are developing fluency, clarity, and expressive communication—skills that serve them far beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, poetry inspires a love for words and the joy of self-expression. It encourages children to see the world through a more imaginative lens and to share their thoughts with authenticity and pride.
I am so proud of our young poets and performers. I hope you enjoy their work as much as I’ve enjoyed guiding them through this inspiring journey.
